Body: green.
Wings: speckled gray and white.

Three thin, white, filamentous gills on the hind end; Habitat: common, both lakes and rivers, feed on filamentous algae. Free-living until pupation, then build silk case; never longer than 6.5 mm.. Len: 4 mm. Body: bright yellow to orange to brown Wings: gray to brown; solid or spotted.

Body strongly flattened from top to bottom w/dark hard parts and a dark, solid (no space/spots in middle) plate on top of each abdominal segs; mid segs of ab widen abruptly; portable purse-case of rock particles and/or silk; never longer than 6.5 mm. Body length: 4.5 mm.
Body: brown.
Wings: dark brown to black with a few scattered light spots.
White bands around antannae.

Laterally flattened; plates covering tops of thoracic segments; on the 2nd segment before the claw on the front legs is very broad with a spiny lobe on the underside; top of each abdominal segment often has a plate with an oblong space at the front; case with two silken halves covered in fine sand; body length <= 6.5 mm.

Flattened side to side; plates covering tops of thoracic segsments; front legs have lobe with spines that broadens 2nd segment before the claw; curved claws with tongue-like (stout and blunt) lobe at base; case is constructed of two flat oval halves covered with algae or fine sand.
