Aquatic Insect Anatomy - Thorax

The thorax of a stonefly nymph has three segements, pro-thorax, meso-thorax, and meta-thorax.

A pair of jointed legs is attached to each segment.

Each leg has a (coxa and trochanter, not visible in illustration) femur, tibia, and tarsi.

Fore wing pads are attached to the meso-thorax, and hing wing pads to the meta-thorax.
